I started having contractions around 2:30 in the morning; I finally woke Brad up around 6:30 and he called the birthing center and they told us to come in around 8 or whenever i was done getting ready. We showed up fairly close to 8 and they got us all excited because when they checked me the 1st time they thought i was already at a 9/10 so they were bringing in the cart and calling my doctor...my nurse then decided she better check me during a contraction, after that they realized i was only at a 4. I was completely effaced and his head was so far down and that's why she thought i was so far already. His head was turned sideways so only half of my cervix would dilate, finally they decided i could push through it and so while i had a contraction/pushed they would try and pull my cervix out of the way so his head could get past it...very painful. After about 30 minutes of that it was finally time to start pushing so that it REALLY counted. i pushed for a total of about an hour and 15 min. I did make them use the vacuum because i was very tired and just wanted to get him out. He has jaundice and so the pic at the end is of him haning out in his "tanning bed" as brad likes to call it. We are all doing very well, and are very happy that our Heavenly Father would allow us to raise this little guy!
He is so stinkin' cute!! We need to come and see him! Good job Jill! Glad everything went well and you are all recovering. So cute...enjoy it all!

ReplyDeleteno it's a bili light....he had jaundice so we had to keep him under this light...not fun
