Summer

Our summer has been pretty busy so far, but also pretty darn fun! this month we've started eating our home grown sweet corn (well more farm grown but still) which Heston also loves, we've been swimming, and we've been to the zoo! Brad and I had tried taking Heston swimming 2 times and he hated the cold water...but while we were on the trek my dad took him swimming and he absolutely LOVED IT! so Friday i decided to call my dad up on his day off and see if he would go swimming with Heston and me so i could figure out what he does to make him love the water. We figured out that partly it's just me being there...but after awhile he did start to really like it...even with me! so there will be more swimming more frequently to try and get him used to it. We've been on quite a few tractor rides, which heston totally loves!! it's been a life saver for me a few days to be able to send him out there when i have things to get done...of course when i ride along too i forget the camera and the fun pictures of heston with brad don't happen. oh and i also forgot my camera when we went swimming so that was a bummer too. Thursday we went to the zoo with Maria and her kids, of course we went on the hottest day of the week but still managed to have some fun! Heston loves animals so i thought it would be fun to go to the zoo, and he did love the animals that were walking around and moving. Heston loves slides and is pretty brave to go down all by himself. At the zoo they have a giraffe slide and i took heston to the top and maria was going to catch him, but he was barefoot and his little sticky feet stuck to the slide and he went over his feet head first down the slide! he didn't cry but we didn't get a pic either because i couldn't stop becasue of my shoes, and therefore couldn't let go with my hands or i would run him over so maria had to come get him. here are a few pics
heston LOVES his cousin Bentley!
Bentley can always manage to make Heston laugh
After a long day of playing outside and eating love of watermelon!
yummy corn on the cob!
the slide at the zoo...you can tell his feet were sticking to the slide
the boys playing in the jeep
this giraffe got right down to eye level with the boys, it was awesome!
the boys watching the giraffe as it left to go eat
the elephant statue sprayed a mist out of it's trunk- Bentley and Bridon loved it...Heston did ok a couple times with it but for the most part wasn't such a fan.

I think we will have to try the zoo again in the fall when it's not so hot so that hopefully we will see more animals and heston will last a little longer.
